Computer Attractions

This is another one of those "too much time on their hands" sites. It's an attempt to catalog every appearance of a computer, meticulously listed by type, in movies and TV shows. The already-burgeoning database can be perused at Starring the Computer. Don't forget to sign up for the RSS feed!

Random wall art
Spotted on a wall by a car repair shop in the Limehouse area of London. It reminds me of a character from or the style of a Tim Burton movie.

Yes You Did

Scrabble graffiti
Spotted in London on Portabello Road.

Electronic Comics

There were a lot of comic books published before the internet was around, and not all electronically-connected people have access to them. That is, until now. There's an effort underway to get as many online as possible. You can see what's available so far at the Digital Comic Museum.

Covering Comic Covers

This site is a great ongoing project: take an artist, give them an old comic book cover, and see how they recreate or re-imagine it. Check out the results at Covered.

The Internet in Real Life

I'd seen something on the internet many times that I passed off to some crafty photoshopping. There was no way to capture how far my jaw dropped when I saw it in real life!

Traffic light tree
My blurry cellphone picture (taken hurredly on a cloudy near-evening) doesn't do it justice, but it's a traffic light tree. It's in the Canary Wharf area of southeast London.

For some better pictures, check out this page.

I need to upload the video I took of it to YouTube...

Secrets Revealed

This site is dedicated to interesting things that you may not know, and not trivia kinda stuff, but real behind-the-scenes sort of stuff. Don't blame me if you wonder where your day has gone after reading the treasure trove at Broken Secrets.

Cliffs Titles

Don't have time to read a lot of books? Intimidated by the "reviews" on their covers? Then the internet is there for you. Here's a site that uses original cover art, replacing the title with a concise summation of the contents. It's Better Book Titles.

Friday Game

Another physics game that requires you to fire little "iZZis" at blocks. When they touch the blocks, they eat them. You're trying to clear out all the blocks, but the iZZis only eat blocks of the same color. Aim well when you're playing iZZi.

Bottom of the Barrel

A site dedicated to showing YouTube videos that haven't been viewed by anyone (at least, when the blogger finds them). Many have already been removed by their owners (probably aghast at the views and comments they've received), but it's an interesting look into the banality of (mostly) tweens on the interenet. See for yourself at Zero Views.
