MS Painting the Masters

For a free program that comes with Windows, MS Paint gets a lot of flack. One guy has taken it upon himself to showcase both its abilities and his talents by meticulously recreating pictures painted by old-timey masters. The site, naturally, is called The MS Paing Masterpiece Project.

Firday Game

This one will take you a while, since you have to infect the entire world and turn them into zombies or corpses, one city at a time. But don't worry, you can upgrade your virus and your zombies as you go. I had fun doing cities over and over until I destroyed them. Muahaha!

See if you can dominate in Infectonator World Dominator.

Infographic Wednesday

Picture Perfect Pets

People get professional portraits taken. People have pets. So the natural conclusion is that people get professional portraits taken which include their pets. People also take candid pictures themselves. But the pictures may not always turn out as intended. Or even if they do, they might not be understood, and others (you know, us) might laugh at them.

Either way, the intarwebs are here for us. Enjoy the show at Awkward Family Pet Photos.

Living in a Catalog World

Follow Gary and Elaine, the fictional couple (whom we never see) that live in the perfectly-pictured house. Admire the photos and laugh at the captions of Catalog Living.

Activity Corner

Friday Game

Some good old 8-bit style may be nostalgic, but it doesn't take away the difficulty of this weird game. The instructions don't really tell you at first, but you use the right and left arrow keys to "run", pressing them in sequence to make your character's legs move; the faster you press them, the faster you run. But pay attention, you have to hit the right key in the red activation zone to advance. Plus, there are sometimes other commands to perform. And all the while, don't let the nasty ape head get you. You'll love to hate Chase Goose.

(Why is it that these kinds of games make you scream when you lose, but then you try again to do better?)

Timing Is Everything

We've all seen a picture that was taken at just the right moment to capture something special (even if that something special is a grimace or faceplant). So, of course, there's a place to start collecting these shots: the aptly-named Perfectly Timed Photos.
