It's A Stickup!

Many bank robbers are unarmed, and achieve their goal by just passing a teller a note. They also, surprisingly, make off with a small amount of cash. Check out the actual notes they used, plus other details about their robbery attempt (such as successful or not), at Bank Notes.

Black Friday Activity Corner

Everyone's out shopping, sleeping off the effects of America's All-You-Can-Eat holiday, or playing games (like me). Short attention span, short list.

Friday Game

A puzzle strategy game that has you click the new color touched by the old color to "drench" the board in a single color in a limited number of moves. It starts out easy, but you lose a move each time you advance a board. Do you have what it takes to Drench?

Thanksgiving Flames

Happy Thanksgiving! Instead of a picture of the traditional spread, I present the enjoyable (and hopefully, not repeated by anyone reading this) eight deep-fried turkey disaster videos.

And remember, if someone says that we're not supposed to laugh at someone else's misfortune, tell them God should have thought of that before he made those misfortunes totally hilarious.

Animating Stills

Apparently, there's a funny phenomenon on Facebook, where someone takes multiple pictures within a short period of time. The person that started this page noticed it, and by "playing" the pictures quickly, animates them. The growing collection is on display at Facebook Animations.

IMDB is the premier source for movie information. But sometimes you want specific movie information, especially if you like weapons. For that sort of thing, you need the Internet Movie Firearms Database.

Browser Share Update

I was curious this morning what affect, if any, Google Chrome and Safari (iTunes and iPhone) had on the Firefox-heavy number of browsers that are used to access this site. So I ran (electronically, of course) to my sitemeter page and grabbed the current browser statistics:

Browser share

Of course, Firefox is hanging in there at 50%. Chrome, not too much of a showing yet. IE versions take second place with 26%, but Safari is right on IE's heels at 21%.

Sorry, geeked out there a little bit. Hope you don't mind.

Making Your Day

Perhaps you've already seen this, as it's all over the intarwebz, but it's a collection of submitted vignettes about incidents or events that individuals have truly enjoyed. It's in the vein of Eff My Life and My Life is Average, but (I think) a lot more enjoyable. Check out It Made My Day.

Game Update

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Totally awesome. I've finished the single player campaign, have done a lot of multiplayer, and am playing the Spec Ops missions with Sylvani. So frikkin' cool.

Left 4 Dead 2. Holy crap, so good. I only got in the first (level? chapter? movie?) in the single player last night, but man, what a ride. Melee weapons are exceptionally gory and fun.

Beatles Rock Band. The Sergeant Pepper album is out for download. HOW DID I MISS THAT? I'll be downloading it tonight, for sure.

Batman: Arkham Asylum. Wow, need more time to get back to this one, since I'm enjoying it and still haven't finished it yet.

Star Trek MMO beta. Come on, Cryptic, where's my invite?

Walked On

Jim Carrey

Jim Carrey has a new "personal" web site, and it's as strange and interesting as the many roles he's played over the years. There's really not much to say, either about him or the site, other than the two seem to fit what you'd expect. It's a weird sort of fun exploring the site (and mind?) that is

Peculiar Pictures

It's often hard to tell what's going on in a photograph if you don't know the context. But it's especially bizarre when the pictures come from an earlier time (say, around the turn of the last century) when they were expensive and rare occurrences. You'll fascinatedly look through the specimens on display at Black and WTF?
